LOCATION
Mitimiti Beach-house is approx 5 hours drive north from Auckland, 3 hours from Whangarei, 2 hours west from Bay Of Islands or 1.5hrs scenic drive south west from Kaitaia. We recommend using a road map as a general guide.
 If travelling from Auckland or Whangarei come via state highway 1 through Kawakawa, Moerewa and Ohaewai then turn off at Mangamuka, Follow the road to Kohukohu and then Panguru and on to Mitimiti. Or come via Kaikohe or Dargaville and Waipoua Forest and have an overseas experience! Catch the Car Ferry at Rawene across the Hokianga Harbour to the Narrows and then it is a 40 minute scenic drive to Mitimiti via Panguru. The car ferry leaves Rawene to travel north-bound on the half hour beginning 7.30 am and leaves the Narrows on the hour to return to Rawene finishing 8pm. The last north bound ferry departs Rawene at 7.30 pm. The ferry trip takes approx 15 minutes.
If travelling from Bay of Islands it is quicker to come via Mangamuka.
From Kaitaia follow the twin coast discovery route through Broadwood and Kohukohu or come via Pawarenga Road and Runaruna Road to Panguru. Take care not to turn into Pawarenga, the road changes to an unsealed one at this junction. Look for the big wood pigeon sign and go left at this junction.
The road from Panguru west to Mitimiti is unsealed for the last 20 kilometres.
